According to Dr APJ, there is no Brain Drain in India. India’s celebrated scientist and former president interacted with school students during Asianet News Edufest 2012 in Kerala. A smart question put by the budding aspirant received the intellectual answer to keep the Wings of Fire flying high in the global stage. He emphasized the need for establishing a great scientific laboratory to invite the global talents for performing collaborative research with India.

A research study on “Top Talent, Elite Colleges, and Migration: Evidence from the Indian Institutes of Technology” documented that the incidence of migration among top talent is sizeable. This study results suggest that elite schools play a key role in shaping migration outcomes, both in terms of the overall propensity and the particular migration destination.
Among the top 10 scorers in JEE, nine have migrated. Among the top 100 scorers, 62% have migrated, and 36% among the top 1000 (Source: Journal of Development Economics Vol.164, Sept 2023, 103120).
World Bank described the key objectives required to strengthen India’s human capital as a critical long-term investment to eliminate extreme poverty and foster India’s middle class: Enhancing investment in the early years of children’s development; Improving the quality of education in schools and colleges.
